For the more adventurous, outdoor activities including kayaking, climbing and raft building are all available at Burrs Activity Centre, while the East Lancashire Railway runs along the edge of the park offering plenty of opportunities to view spectacular steam engines. Burrs is also home to impressive art as part of the Irwell Sculpture Trail, which runs from Salford to the West Pennine Moors. You can follow the trail north from the park to the small village of Summerseat or continue to Ramsbottom packed with cafes and restaurants.
